SafeHaven SMS Consent & Notifications Policy

Last updated: [Date]

Who Sends These Messages

SafeHaven is a personal accountability app. Users of the app can add a trusted “accountability contact” (a friend, family member, or guardian) who receives SMS text alerts related to that user’s account.

How Consent Is Collected

Accountability contacts are added directly inside the SafeHaven app by the account holder. Before a contact’s phone number is submitted, the account holder must check a consent confirmation reading:

“I have this person’s permission to text them SafeHaven alerts”

By checking this box, the account holder confirms they have obtained the accountability contact’s permission to receive SMS messages from SafeHaven on their behalf. Any accountability contact may opt out of future messages at any time using the instructions below, regardless of how they were originally added.

What Messages Are Sent

Accountability contacts may receive SMS alerts including:

  • Blocked content attempt: “SafeHaven alert: [Name] just tried to access a blocked site (gambling).”
  • Protection disabled: “SafeHaven alert: [Name]’s content filtering protection was just turned off.”
  • App removed from device: “SafeHaven alert: SafeHaven was removed from [Name]’s device.”

These are transactional/account-notification messages only. SafeHaven does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on account activity and cannot be predicted in advance.
